potholders and scrubbies oh my!

Wow it has been awhile since I blogged..I have a reason for that. I have been told that I need to get out more often, get around people, do something, it is not normal what I do. OK..goodness knows I want to be normal..So I decided to put my hook and thread down for a week so I could be "normal." I went groc. shopping, went birthday shopping, got with the grandkids, cleaned my house, did the laundry, cooked some meals (all of these things I would have done anyway). I watched TV (big waste of time), played DS..killed some zombies, spelled some words. I did not touch a hook or even a tiny piece of thread. NOW looking back on the week..there is not a thing to show for it..is that normal? I feel like I lost a week. I have made this conclusion..if sitting in front of the television..and becoming like those zombies in my game is normal..I don't want to be normal. I like being home, I am content with my life, and I am ok with being abnormal then. With that being said..I am going to go to my corner, sit in my chair, grab a hook, and move some thread. There will be something to show, other than this blog, for the week. I am not sure I ever want to be normal again.

Thought I would show some pics of potholders and scrubbies created when I wasn't being normal. That is if blogger lets me post them..if not another day then.

I think your version of normal is totally okay. And I love all of the items that you featured in the post today! Great detailed work.

Hi Vikki! I guess I am not normal either. I don't get the TV thing. People talk about shows and I don't watch them so I am clueless. It isn't that I never watch TV, I do watch some. I love a good movie now and then. Love your pretty potholders and scrubbies. You do such beautiful work. I am working on my PH for Faith's PH swap and still have my afghan squares out. Those have been put aside until I get my PH swap finished.

If watching TV all day makes one normal, I will just be abnormal~~
Have a wonderful day!!

Your PH's are beautiful! I think they always brighten up the kitchen. Stop trying to be someone else's nornal...you already are normal! I prefer to spend time my time making stuff, too....as I get older, I have less and less interest in being out and about, and more and more interest in staying home and doing the things I enjoy. Besides, you have to keep moving that hook so we can see all the beautiful things you make. :)

Wishing you a lovely day.

Normal for me is crocheting everyday. My hand is giving me a bit of a problem so I've been taking a break. It seems weird, to not have a hook in my hand when I'm sitting watching a movie or tv.

Like your potholds and scrubbies!

Ohh, I love the daisy-style potholders in the third photo! They are beautiful! Are they made with a worsted weight yarn?

I don't know that "normal" is all that fun, anyway. I think you should just do the things that give you joy, regardless of what others think you should do.
