Not your Grandma's pineapple Doily

Good Afternoon fellow bloggers. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I spent most of mine napping. I feel so so much better today. The ears don't hurt and no I repeat no headache!! It so great that anitbiotics can help so much.. Thank God for the men and women he uses to heal us!

I don't usually work with anything other than thread, but today I am going to start a turkey. I know it's not my usual thing. It is kind of a joke..I had a lady call wanting to know if I could make her a turkey last year...I told her no..that I didn't have a pattern (I am a crocheter..not a designer, but am very very grateful to all designers, and kind of want to do it). That same day my daughter goes to Big Lots and finds a crochet book with a Turkey centerpiece pattern. I figured I might as well give it a shot..My WIP for this week.

Thought you might want to take a look at this doily...I just love this one..I like the texture and the way it looks..going to make another one like this only in a mocha color for my coffee table..This one I just listed on Etsy..

I hope you have a great week. I will post pics of the Turkey as it gets created..It is a stretch for me..No laughter please!!

Your doily is just beautiful - I always admire crocheters who work with thread.

Glad you're feeling better. :)

Wow, Vikki, the doily is just stunning! I have seen one either just like it or very similar in a crochet book at Jo-Ann Fabrics. A difficult to crochet book...I hope I gain more knowledge and ability as I crochet more and more. Faith sent me the pattern for the mint color doily I posted about. I am so anxious to start on it. Friends are just the best aren't they? Looking forward to seeing the turkey....Happy crocheting!!

It's blogger, it's not you. I've had problems with blogger too. Most of mine are that I have no spaces and all of the paragraphs are one line after another!

I am so envious of you and your doilies! I have 2 started that I just can't make myself finish. A lot of it has to do with the directions and them being so intense and then it's so easy to lose your place. I get so aggravated I guess.

So glad you're feeling better! I woke up this morning with an upset stomach, ending up in the bathroom about an hour and a half before I had to get up for work. So basically I've been up since 2:30 this morning. Wasn't going to come to work but then decided I needed to get my butt up. I think I've only called in maybe 4 days in 12 years.

Anxious to see the turkey. Didn't know Big Lots had crochet patterns! It's been a while since I've been in one.

Wow, this is such a beautiful doily. Is it as complicated as it appears? I would like to try something like that but I don't think I will be able to.
