Last week's accomplishments!!

Wow. What week I have had.  Ok most of you know that my kids are all grown with kids of their own.  So I am used to my house being quiet..maybe cooking if I feel like it.  I eat when I am hungry..sometimes I forget to eat.  It works for me and my husband.  We have our routine and we are comfortable with it.  Well that has all been turned upside down and inside out.  My daughter moved about 4 hours away taking my grandkids with her so I am not able to see them as often.  They used to come and spend one..I mean one night and most of the next day.  I made a trip to see them last weekend and brought one of them home with me.  It has been almost 5 days and I think I am finally get used to having a child around.  Let me tell you, once you get used to having an empty nest I think you really enjoy it.  Not that I don't enjoy having my grandson around, but kids..you have to feed them, make sure they bathe, and brush their teeth...and they talk..sometimes just to hear themselves talk..and you know what...they need to do..they get BORED...I don't get bored.  So that is a new concept for me.  I have helped him crochet chains, we have pulled out the many sets of trains.  He has crayons and paints to make colored things.  We have glued things, screwed things..right now he is baking some brownies and making a video....Meet Kyle the oldest of my grandsons..

We went to the library and got some books for him read.  Hopefully he will learn to sit and be comfortable in his own skin.  He takes meds for add, adhd and some kind of ocd.  So at times he needs direction, and be reminded of what he was supposed to be doing..distraction is a major problem..and he talks alot..I mean alot..But he is mine and I love him dearly...But he will wear you out..
I was able to get this runner done..and blocked with some help from Kyle..I really like this pattern..but it requires some counting and with Kyle around counting to even 10 was difficult..but I stuck it out..So today after he gets done making brownies..he is going to read and hopefully I will be able to pick up a hook.  I can only hope.

This color is 619..This color has been discontinued.  I think they made a mistake when they discontinued it as it is a wonderful shade of cream..a little darker, but looks great when made into a doily.  I think the closest color to it is 3033...which is a little darker than ecru, lighter than the coffee color.
Thanks for stopping by..may you all have an awesome weekend and find the joy in whatever you choose to do.

My 7 year old grandson James is like that - always talking and always moving. He wears me out too. :)

Your table runner looks very beautiful!:) nice pattern !!
Looking after kids is a big task which you have already done for your kids. I am getting tired at this age only, no idea, how will I manage my grandchildren:) my daughter doesn't usually say that she gets bored but she is a chatterbox so keeps me occupied.

Your grandson sounds like my oldest grandson. He has ADHD also.If he doesn't take his meds, he's bouncing off the wall. He has gotten better as the older he gets. Beautiful doily!

Some of the blogs I've followed I don't even know the names of the people who write them..impersonal isn't it.. off they go! We must have a personal
connection, like you and I do...
