Small joys,

This is the one and only doily I finished..as a matter of fact it is the only one that even got started.. hence the title small joys...I made this with black  #310 from DMC color chart and available in my Etsy shop...click the doily to your right..it will take you there...anyway I should have thought it through a little more.  Lots of single crochets and you know how hard black can be to work with..however........ while the roofers were working on my roof..what better time to put in skylights?  We had 2 installed and wow what a difference it makes..This is a pic of my living room taken today..today it is raining..and looks like a light is on..there is more light in here than in my sunroom...I am so LIKING it!!! This room is in the center of my house..no windows in here at all..just a door to the sunroom....so working with black thread is not really a problem..another small joy...The skylights are made with polarized glass so they let the light and not the heat in..I can hardly wait for a full moon to see how it looks..The roof is done however the guttering isn't..so they should be back sometime this week.  My hook didn't move alot this week because the guys were working and creating dust in my area...and my hubby's cousin so far removed I don't think they are really cousins..but anyway him and his wife stopped in on their way through..and stayed for a couple of nights..I think I can finally get the hook moving this week after I get the laundry done..go pick up some undies and socks for hubby.  Before I go...it looks like the bees have left.  Like I said looks like they have left.  I hope they aren't underground like someone suggested..if so I will not use my yard until the dead of winter...Have a great week and I hope you all can find the small joys in your lives this week...Blessings

You have a beautiful living room! And I love your black doily. Black is a color I don't like to work with, and avoid it whenever possible. LOL

I retread. Your blog and you should know you are a fantastic doily maker, just awesome. I strive to be half as talented as you!

Lovely doily, Vikki!!:) Black is very difficult to work with and it doesn't show up the stitches if seen from a distance.
Your living room looks very bright and nice:)

Did you just decide to have skylights put in on a whim since you had roofers over? Haha! Jokes aside, I do love what having skylights has done to your living room. All that natural light must be a blessing for your crocheting. -Tiffany @ Maggio Roofing
