I finished up these two last week..the first one is an Agnus Russell design..I think I got it off Ravelry many many years ago.  It is like a tapestry, but not.  You have to cut your thread every time you change colors.  I think it would have been a nicer pattern if one could carry the thread along versus having to cut and weave in ends.  The red and white doily is one from a book called pineapple masterpieces ...it is a very easy pattern but again it takes alot of time as you have to do alot of cutting and weaving in....and we all know how much we like doing that....I will probably list them in my shop either today or tomorrow...these kinds of doilies really confuse me on the price..the pattern is easy...both take a decent amount of thread, but then the time that goes into them is where I lose it....I know ...I know....you never get your time out of your items..I have to remind myself that the reason I opened shop..and that is ..that I have an addiction to thread and doilies...and if I am going to keep making them..and I am...and if I am going to keep buying thread...and I am..I might as well share them with the rest of the world..and to feed my addiction to thread and patterns....so back to the original thoughts on price..hmm..have to think on it...

I am making another Christmas tree..this one will be a big white one.  I am hoping to have it done early this year to really enjoy it.  I will take pics when it is finished.  I make one eevery year and every year I say I am not doing this again.  I forget from year to year about the blisters and sore fingers and hands from having to work two strands of acrylic yarn...not to mention the big K hook...my hands love the feel of the small hooks and small thread, and when they are made to work with big bulky yarn and hooks they scream at me.  I guess I need to grab yarn more often huh?  I haven't decided what color lights to put in it yet.  Last year you might remember me buying all the white wired lights I could find..as white is really hard to find..at least in my neck of the woods..anyway..I almost went on a buying rampage again until I remembered I have lots of lights..well hubby reminded me after I loaded my cart up....so I went back and put them back on the shelf..all the while my head is screaming NO KEEP US....

On that sad note..I will say good by until the next blog post..I hope you all have a great week and find the joys that life throws your way...and remember to look for the blessings...

Vikii, these should be title
Exquisite...for they are truly lovely and you are the master of your hook. If you need white lites, let me know, I'll keep my eyes open for some. I love my tree made of hook n yarn. I put multi colored on mine, my thread is white with red/green specks. It brings me such joy and looks so snazzy in my kitchen window. :)

Your doilies look very pretty :) My hands are also used to thinner hooks and even a 4.5 mm hook creates pain in my palm and wrist.

I think you should sneak back to the store and buy them, you never know when you are going to need them.

Love both of the doilies but the first one is screaming "Christmas"! It looks like the hard candy we used to have years ago at Grandma's. I know what you are saying about working with a larger hook and thread. I go through phases where all I work with is yarn and then I'll go to thread. Happy Halloween!

Hi Vikki, I must say that when it comes to thread and beautiful crocheted doilies, you are in a league all by yourself...truly!!!! I admire your work so much! I taught myself to crochet with thread and graph patterns from Magic Crochet Magazines some 30 years ago (ahem, did I just say that?? lol)
For some reason I got away from thread crochet and have been making yarn projects for the last few years. BLAH! Yesterday, I purged my entire stash of yarn,(I donated it all to the thrift store)My relationship with yarn is over...we're divorcing. :) This morning I ordered enough thread for the next 30 years haha! It is just more joyful and comforting for me to create with thread. I can't wait for my order to arrive!
Hope your having a great day and Happy November, penny x
