OH NO!!!!!!!

OK I am working on a tablecloth...using a diagram... I thought I liked the diagram thing....I have changed my mind...I have lost my place ..I don't know what row I am on..did I skip a row..my stitches aren't meeting up right..where is the end of the row or the beginning..I can't tell as I am ripping it apart....ARGH!!!!  I am not sure where I am on the pattern...I am thinking I have to rip all the way to like 6 rows back?  at least until I can recognize on the pattern where I am...jeepers...dang dang dang......I don't like to rip and tear out at all...I usually don't have to...I really want to wad this up in a ball and walk away...and the amount of time I have into this stupid thing..and to have to re do...yikes....so if I rip to where I recognize the pattern I will be ripping out like 10 hours of work...maybe I will just frog it for now and put it up and let it rest as WIP maybe pick it up in the future...I have 3 balls of thread invested in this mess..so yeah I will pick it back up..maybe not today or tomorrow..

Another winter storm advisory...this is the forecast..rain changing over to freezing rain, sleet and then when the temperature drops later this afternoon..snow..significant accumulations.....now I want you to notice they said significant accumulations....do you want to know why they said signigificant accumulations..and not an amount?....Because the general public would reach through the tv and rip their mouths right off their face..oops..did I really just say that....DIE WINTER DIE...

ok with that rant over..I am going to go into my stash, find a pattern that I can read...no diagrams...find a hook and a couple balls of thread.....go sit in my hooking chair, work on my hooker butt, turn on the ott lamps, maybe two..just for the affect....close my eyes for and pretend I am on a beach with the sun on my face..thread in my hand...and the noise of a football game off in the distance...

I want to thank all of you who pop in to read my rants or hear my thoughts...and to those of you who leave comments..you know you help keep me sane...Blessings...

Oh my dear friend I am so sorry you have to rip it back. :(

I will say that I love what I see though. :)
I love working with charts/diagrams, but I always use a post it note to keep track of where I am at (I do that with written patterns, too). I am very forgetful and if I walk off when I come back I never remember where I am at, so the post it works for me.

Thanks for the warning on the weather...oh I second the motion of Die Winter Die! I am so tired of getting ice all over the roads and then snow on top of the ice...Where is Spring? I really miss her!

I will be working on my "hooker butt" today as well as the "big game" is played in the background....I only have one Ott light, but I am so gonna try the wising I were on a beach thing....of course I do that all the time anyway! :)

Hugs and blessings sweet friend...and hang in there with the frog thing. :)

I felt your frustration through and through. I use post its also. They have little marker types kind of shaped like an arrow. I mark my copy of pattern/diagram with a pencil note as to round, row etc. Yes Let us sing a song of winter gone Please! Have a happy hooky day.

Oh dear...I know what you mean about losing your place. In general I like the charts. But what I quite often do is make a printout of it that I can put marks on. Sometimes I have to take a pencil and follow the row, so it keeps my eyes on track as to where they need to be. One type of doily I don't care to make whether using a written pattern or chart...is an oval one. LOL Those ones always seems to drive me nutso..and it's a short trip! LOL

Bless your heart! If I use a chart I usually scan and print so I can use a highlighter.I have a counter that I use regularly to keep my place.
Die winter die is right. It feels like spring today but they're calling for rain. I'm going to shut the bedroom door so I can't hear the football noise!

Poor dear! I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I can't read diagrams very well and skip a lot of great patterns because they don't have written directions. The diagrams just look confusing to me. Take a break from it and maybe you'll feel better.
Stay warm :-)

Oh Vicki! That SUCKS! So sorry. I'm thinking maybe don't rip it out just yet. Maybe pick it up later after you've walked away and you may be able to tell where you are or maybe just identify a row or two back at least? Things do look differently with fresh eyes. We all do this. I know exactly how you feel! I still have not picked up that Teal Bobble Heart afghan since I had to rip out almost an entire panel, but I will someday.

Goodness Vikki - don't rip it out - just add a row of sc and be done with it. Then you can start a new one and be happy. :)

So sad that you have to rip out your hard work. On one side, I agree with what Debi said but on the other side, knowing you for perfection, I think it will be difficult to finish it off as it is. Better look for new project to cheer up yourself:) let this one be taken care later.

Ugh!!! Hopefully you can take a break for a day or two, then find your place again...

Oh no, I hate it when that happens!!! :(
I have been doing some knitting and rather than print off the pattern I am stupidly reading it online and keeping count in my head because I decided it wasn't exactly complicated.

Well I too forgot where I was, so frustrating, but I left it until the next day and then painstakingly counted each row until I found myself again.

A lesson learned for me.

I hope you can find your place on the chart without too much frogging, it's soul destroying to see all our work get ripped out.

Sending a sympathetic hug!!

:)
