TAAAA DAHHHH!!!!!! THREAD EATER IS DONE!!!! and I think it is too big for my table...

I started doing my happy dance yesterday morning..no it was Saturday night.  But the real happy dance was yesterday afternoon after getting the thread eater blocked.  I was still doing the happy dance this morning..and then...I put the thread eater on my table..I think it is too big!!! I guess it is a matter of taste, but I don't like my tablecloths hitting on my chairs..and my hubby will be moving it up and wrinkling it up everytime he sits down...not to mention my dog walking against it and leaving a trail of doggy hair..dang...what do you think?  Should it be shorter? oh my my..happy dance is slowing down.  Anyway for those of you who are going to ask for the pattern..it is a Japanese diagram pattern..no I don't read Japanese, but the diagram is pretty universal.  I used a 8 hook and #10 thread..and about 26 balls of thread.  Good thing I am my own supplier..and had lots of time...pics of the book will follow...being as I can't write Japanese either.  The tablecloth is in ecru..all same dye lot!!! Nice!! I even left off the last 20 rows of the pattern..dang!!! I hate to say it, but this may end up in my shop.  Darn! I think it is really close to 72" maybe more..hold on I will go measure it with hubby's tape measure..ok from tip to tip across it is about 84 inches.....dang!!!!

Get a bigger table ! LOL. Vikki it is gorgeous. WOW what an endeaver, no wonder you are doing the happy dance. What a lovely heirloom and keepsake. I get what your saying about the hubster and dog though, it may be better to add a leaf if you can, or purchase a larger table so it doesn't get messed up. Hey! You are going to let your husband eat at that tablecloth? You are a better woman then I by many accounts. LOL

It is stunning! I want to eventually make a tablecloth...do you think motifs are better or all one piece? God bless you, you do amazing work. I never realized dye lots in thread mattered. . Shows how much I know.

Congratulations, Vikki! It's stunning. I think it looks great but I understand your concerns. I'm going to go with the "Get a bigger table" vote; you put way too much time into that to put it in your shop.

Exquisite Vikki! You are so talented and such a trooper to take on such a huge project. You don't have to get a new table. Maybe you could get a piece of glass, plexi-glass or a nice wood panel cut larger and set it over your table. Voila!...a bigger table. I would go to whatever lengths necessary to make that tablecloth work!!!! :) Seriously, it's a keeper. Have a nice evening, penny x

Wow !! That's a lot of crocheting with size 10 thread. It's gorgeous !:) don't sell it , keep it with you. 26 balls, then it must be heavier too.
I have seen such huge patterns on Internet and was thinking of making one but after seeing that it took long time for you, then surely it's going to take more than two years for me to complete.

Oh Vikki, what a lovely BIG piece of crochet. I will need to show the busy bees group this. Check in with us when you can.

Oh. My. Word!!! Congratulations! I can't even wrap my brain around 26 balls of thread!!!!! That's crazy! Incredibly beautiful, too!

I hope you find a way to use it. I don't think any amount of money would be worth all the work you've done! ;-)

I agree with Faith, get a bigger table! This is gorgeous! Would you believe I have never made a tablecloth for myself? I love this!

Very pretty!! I think it's perfect! But you have to be happy with it or it will bug you every time you sit at the table.Unless! You take it off and just have it on the table when it's not being used.
